What this means

The calculator normalizes every economy value to litres per 100 kilometres using exact named conversion constants. US and imperial gallons are always labelled separately.

Trip mode converts the distance to kilometres and the price to a per-litre amount before calculating fuel used and cost.

Common questions

Are US and imperial mpg the same?
No. An imperial gallon is larger, so the same consumption produces a higher imperial-mpg number. The calculator labels both explicitly.
Does round trip double the distance?
Yes. The entered distance is treated as one way and doubled before fuel is calculated.
Will real fuel use match exactly?
Not necessarily. Vehicle condition, route, load, weather, traffic and driving can all change actual consumption.
